june cards

hello, friends! i thought i would share some cards with you today since it has been awhile since i posted any.
this first one features Pretty Party papers and accents from Crate Paper.  the colors and patterns in this collection are so, so sweet and make me wish i had a little girl so i could plan a party just for her!  luckily i have friends with little girls and 3 wonderful nieces who can benefit from this set.
in particular, a friend's daughter recently turned 2 and it gave me the perfect opportunity to use some goodies from the collection. i am so drawn to the color combination of pink and yellow and i also love the addition of the blue polka dot journaling card from Cosmo Cricket's Odds 'N Ends line.  the lace bits are also a new favorite accent of mine and i find myself adding them to nearly EVERYTHING i make these days!  the sentiment stamps are from Papertrey Ink and you can find the red twine and doily in my Etsy shop.
speaking of 3 nieces, the third was just born on June 3rd so she's brand new!  i made this card with the intention of giving it to her parents but because new baby cards are so fun to make, i ended up creating a whole different card for them instead.  this one will be for sale in my Etsy shop.
i used products from My Mind's Eye, Crate Paper, and Hambly for this, and made the little "sweet baby" tag using Papertrey Ink stamps.  half of a doily, scrunched seam binding, and washi tape finish this off.
i love the soft colors, and the Follow Your Heart papers from My Mind's Eye are just dreamy.
this is the card i will be sending to Miss Iris to welcome her into our world.  the collage paper on the bottom of the card is K & Company and is a couple of years old.  i fell in love with this little chick back then and bought tons of the paper, then hoarded it and never used it until now!  ridiculous, but it is still so precious for the new baby of the family.
the journaling label is another Cosmo Cricket goodie (and again it's a couple of years old).  the sentiment stamp is My Mind's Eye, from the Miss Caroline collection, and the backing paper on the top half of the card, as well as the teensy "this day" label, are from Prima's Songbird line.  my requisite doilies, buttons, and lace bits are here, as well.
it's difficult to make out, but i used a piece of cream washi tape with tiny bows on it as an accent and hand stitched over it.  i used my vintage typewriter to type "too sweet" onto a thin strip of vellum which i then stitched to the paper.
i was planning to send this card to Miss Iris but in 2 weeks, Mr. Bagubian and I will be flying to NY to see my family so i will get to meet her (yippy!) and deliver her card in person.

that's all from me today.  if you have any questions about products or techniques on any of these cards, feel free to ask!  i hope you're having a terrific Monday!
